Students who sat for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) November 2014 session will receive their results on 5 January 2015, said the Malaysian Examinations Council.
The 79,457 candidates could obtain their results at their respective schools or educational institutions from 10AM on 5 January while private candidates will receive their results through mail.
Candidates can also check their results via SMS by typing MUET RESULT Identity card no. and sending to 15888 or by checking online at http://mpm.edu.my from 10AM on 5 January.
For those who are unsatisfied with their MUET results can request for a review by paying RM70 fee. The closing date for appeals is 16 January.
Online registration for the July 2015 session of MUET can be made between 5 January and 13 February, 2015 at http://online.mpm.edu.my
This day had finally come! So now I am looking forward to share my experience on "How to Tackle Muet Exam". To tell you in the first place, I get a Band 5 in my Muet exam, so I guess I'm quite a qualified student to teach you some of my techniques in facing MUET (ahahah). I was thrill and happy when I found out that I qualified for a Band 5, but at the same time, I was quite disappointed with what I had in my hand, because I was aiming for Band 6, either way, it was fine for me. To your knowledge, there is a total of 6 Bands in Muet, and Band 6 is for the high achievers. So first thing first, before you sit for your Muet exam.
1. Do a lot of practice!
Do not ever assume that Muet exam is as easy as you thought. Practice makes perfect, even if you take yourself as a proficient english learner. The preparation for Muet exam should be started a few months before the exam day, so don't be lazy and go get yourself a revision/practice book to get yourself familiarised with the questions. For me, the toughest would be the Reading paper. But it all depends, some think Essay writing is the toughest while others have different opinions. And it all comes back to you, you have to try it before you judge it. Practice on the Reading paper was recommended as it can improve your understanding about the question requirement and doing a lot of practice will help you in improving your techniques to choose the most accurate answer as you know objective questions can be quite confusing sometimes. (Reading paper is very important as it takes a substantial portion of the total marks among the four papers)
2. Speak, don' t be mouth-shut!
Now here comes the difficult part. Most people find it hard to perform during the speaking test. But there's a thing that you need to know–staying in silence during speaking test will not bring your marks any higher. So speak out loud with confidence even if you do not have a good english. English proficiency is not all that matters, what matters most is the courage to speak, the courage to express your own opinions. The examiners will see it through your effort, they would not put you in a Band 1/2 if you are brave enough to speak. However, speaking without content in it doesn' t help, so try to cover some general topics to get some ideas, or you could even brainstorm the ideas yourself, that would help you to generate new ideas to tackle the question given. To be honest, Candidate C and D usually had a rough time with ideas-generating. This is because Candidate A and B are given the most general idea and are asked to expand on it, thus these ideas can come flooding in easily. But when it comes to Candidate C and D, things will get a bit tricky and you'd better be prepared for it! If you are aiming for Band 6, remember to add some "special" phrases in between your sentences. These included, " Sorry to interrupt, I see your point there but…", " Your suggestion is good, but it may also give rise to other problems…", " I'm afraid the lack of time forbid further discussion at this point,…", " All of us have unanimously agree…".
3. Listening is all about concentration!
Listening paper to me is okay. The only way to improve your listening is to expose yourself to english language. Try to do more practice on listening paper if you do not get involved in an english environment frequently. I personally recommended Oxford publisher as I think it' s one of the most stand-out english publisher. If you want to do it in a more relaxing way, try to listen to english TV programmes, radio programmes and try to catch every word it says and try to understand the said sentences. To whom who are native speakers of english, I guess there will be no problems for you guys in this paper.
4. Write, write, write!
Essay writing is all about expressing your own opinion, there will be no right and wrong in judging someone's essay, so let go of your mind and write as you please. However, ideas must makes sense and have logic in it or else your essay will be considered "childish". To get Band 4 and above, the use of bombastic words is a must, so make sure you put in a few "wowing" sentences in your essay to surprise the examiners! Report writing has to be done by following the format, and again practice makes perfect.

I am currently studying in UITM Alor Gajah Lendu Melaka as a Foundation TESL student (YEah MAN) In shaa Allah this April , I will end my foundation year officially. Back to the main topic shall we? Alright today is 5th January 2015.. Today, MUET examinations result will be officially release at 10 a.m for the group that took it last November. Most of the major costs in universities such as medical, engineering, architecture, TESL , Law required the students to take MUET examination to test on their English Skills. I was one of the victims . The government have required the TESL students to get at least a band 4 for their MUET examinations to pursue Degree . I never thought that it will be this kind of hard. What worst is that you need a band 5 to graduate your Degree year . So that means if you get band 4 for your MUET examinations this time , you need to retake it when you want to graduate Degree.. and that sucks much i guess. currently , i had the feeling of retaking the MUET exam again in July because i cannot guaranty that i will score band 4 because i will not deny that it is hard. I am quite glad that i was a TESL student but i can't deny that i am still not good enough in English . Maybe people will say that i can write well , speak well but the truth is i am just an ordinary human being. My former English teacher once told me ' we might be the best in one place , but when we move one step ahead we will really see the challenges that been waiting for us' Once i enter the first month of Foundation TESL , i finally realize that i was a very tiny individual there. You will never can count the numbers of fluent speakers that study with you. Sometimes people who are sitting beside you can speak better than you (macam orang melayu cakap 'cakap berhabuk') so there is where all the challenges begins. I cannot deny that i am damn scared right now. who isn't? but what to do everything was set.. I just have to wait and see.. May Allah SWT bless. Here are some Easy and simple MUET exam tips to score the highest result, Band 6. This simple tips if followed properly should be able to help you to face MUET exam papers and MUET exam speaking test. Malaysian University English Test well known as MUET. MUET is an exam to test the level of English language and mainly is treated as an entry to public universities. This examination is run by Malaysian Examination Council. The followings are the best tips and recommendation to prepare oneself for these MUET examination papers and score the highest band 6.
1. Reading Candidate who intent to take this examination and thinking to obtain the highest point band 6 should do a lot of reading no matter whatever material it is. As long it is in English and it is good material such as newspapers, story books and magazines. One should go through all the past year questions in order to have variety of vocabulary. 4. Writing One can use past year question as a step to practice their writing skill in the given time. Besides that this can help one to practice their skill to express their thoughts, views, ideas and comments by practicing daily. This will help one to use as many suitable vocabularies in their essays and answers.
Besides the tips above, there are other ways to score the highest band 6 such as:-
1. Structure of the MUET One should be familiar of the format of the examination such as the parts of the exam, what are the questions, the type of questions the time frame for each part. This can be practice by obtaining the past year MUET Exam paper and asking people who have sat for the examination so that one will have clear picture of the format of the papers before sitting for it.
2. Planning before sitting for the examination One should have an action plan before sitting for MUET exam papers. This will help one to have confidence and knows how well they are prepared and whether they are ready beforehand.
3. Practice There is a say "practice makes perfect", this is the only way that makes a person perfect in whatever they do. So the more the practice you do the more familiar and confident you are mentally and physically.
There is some people asking about MUET exam dress code. Actually there is no so called "MUET Exam Dress Code". Candidate should be aware of the dress code, one who taking privately should wear formal and neat attire where else the STPM students should wear their uniforms.
The steps and tips above can help one to build up one's confident level and amazingly at the end one will be surprise of the improvement. Practice will always makes things perfect at the end. Practice! Practice! Practice!
The world today is turning more to electronic communications such as the e-mail, Facebook and Short message System (SMS). What is your opinion of this growing trend? Discuss. You should write at least 350 words.
Generally, in answering academic essays, you need to really focus on a higher level of thinking which befits a Band 6, university style response. If you were to just answer that this electronic communication trend is good and that you can chat with your friends and keep in touch, then you really haven't explored the question in a mature and critical way.
How do you train your mind to be more critical and mature in approaching the question? Well, you need to focus not just on the effects of the concept to yourself and the people around you, but focus on how it will affect society not just in your country but globally.
Anyway, have a read of the sample answer below. Take note that I'm sticking to my writing template, but better students can use a more creative style to show their flair in writing effective compositions.
Everywhere we turn today, the world is crowded with people busy typing SMSes on their Nokias or iPhones or someone is staring unblinkingly at a Facebook or Yahoo page on the computer screen. Whether you like it or not, the age of Information Technology is upon us, and we can either learn new skills and adapt to this new technology, or be forever lost and stuck in the older generation. In my opinion, I am fully convinced that this growing trend is the way of the future, and it brings countless benefits to mankind. In this essay, I will discuss three positive effects of electronic communication, namely its efficiency, enhances communication and creates a borderless world community.
First and foremost, more and more people are relying on e-mail, Facebook, Short Message System (SMS) and other types of electronic communication tools because of its high efficiency. This is because in today's age of globalisation, we need information at the tip of our fingers. Moreover, with the use of these tools, we can increase the speed of getting the necessary and relevant information within seconds and this will increase our productivity. For example, gone are the days of using 'snail mail' or regular letters using stamps and envelopes and many more examples of 'old' technology because it is simply too slow and inefficient. Therefore, these e-communication tools increases the access to important information which is why the new generation is fully accepting this growing trend.
Secondly, this form of technology enhances communication among people today. This means that when we use SMS, e-mails and websites like Facebook, we are able to communicate clearly and directly to our target audience. Furthermore, people today find that the message is more important than the form it comes in as an e-mail in short but clear sentences is just as good or even better than a long and formal letter. For instance, an SMS can give clear instructions in just a few words and this communicates what needs to be done quickly and directly. Thus, when the intended message can be spread clearly using short and clear information like in SMSes and emails, communication can be enhanced and there will be less problems of miscommunication.
Last but not least, e-communication creates a borderless community in the world we live in today. This is due to the fact that the boundaries that separate each country becomes less relevant when information is transferred without limitations. In addition, the world would be a better place because there is a sense of 1-World commitment, respect and tolerance for the global community through efficient and clear e-communication. Take for example, we are able to connect with people on an international basis using Facebook, Friendster, Tagged, Hotmail, Yahoo and others. Hence, these tools will enhance global unity and create a more peaceful world.
In a nutshell, this growing trend has many positive effects not just to individuals but the global society in terms of efficiency, enhancing communicative skills and shaping a borderless community. In my opinion, I still firmly believe that this latest trend is the best way forward and if we do not catch up, we will be left behind by the tide of development. Our government can encourage the proper usage of electronic communications by increasing communication amenities and broadband accessibility especially in rural areas so that they can enjoy the same facilities as city-folks therefore balancing the development of our country towards achieving Vision 2020.
