<b>Malaysian University English Test</b> (<b>MUET</b>) results out on January 5 <b>...</b> Posted: 01 Jan 2015 07:06 PM PST Published: January 2, 2015 Students who sat for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) November 2014 session will receive their results on 5 January 2015, said the Malaysian Examinations Council.  The 79,457 candidates could obtain their results at their respective schools or educational institutions from 10AM on 5 January while private candidates will receive their results through mail. Candidates can also check their results via SMS by typing MUET RESULT Identity card no.  and sending to 15888 or by checking online at http://mpm.edu.my from 10AM on 5 January. For those who are unsatisfied with their MUET results can request for a review by paying RM70 fee. The closing date for appeals is 16 January. Online registration for the July 2015 session of MUET can be made between 5 January and 13 February, 2015 at http://online.mpm.edu.my Comments comments

When i sms to the number 15888, i got a reply, "Yes, u may obtain ur result on 13June." Damn it! Of course i know. i actually want to know earlier, so that i have prepared myself to it. so that i won't over-reacted. Too bad, i dun get my preparation well. I just hope and pray that i would get band 5. ********* When Chemistry… we have been informed that we can get the result at 1pm. when the time comes, im busy tackling a question. hahaxD tats y i go out late. Everyone got their results. I forget to see their expressions, i was just too anxious!! then i started to tear the slip… I can feel my hand is shaking. Shaking very hard… My grandchild suddenly jump over and asked me to tear faster. Well, im trying hard… It's open… well, breath!!! 3,2,1… band….. 4! shit!!!!! i feel my eyes' wetness… oh no, im crying!! so embarrassing!!! in the staff room!! ok, at the moment, i've decided to retake. that's my aim and i won't upset myself! then my classmates asked, what u get?? *wept* pn subba coolly said, "she gt band 4."  Damn!! well, i just duno y am i keep scolding here. too angry with myself perhaps. well, brush up ur Eng, Lavency! u can do it!! ps: Congratz to u la~~ the BAND 5 one~~ =) Like this: Like Loading... Malaysian University English Test (<b>MUET</b>) Guide | Malaysia Students Posted: 28 Jul 2007 08:58 AM PDT Posted by Chong Malaysian University English Test (MUET), first launched in 1999 and administered by Malaysian Examinations Council (Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia), is a test to measure candidates' English language proficiency. MUET is taken by students who intend to pursue their tertiary education at local public universities since it is a mandatory test to gain entry into degree courses offered at all Malaysian public universities. This test is carried out twice a year, in April/May and October/November. Candidates usually register through their academic institutions while private candidates through State Education Departments (Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri), with a registration fee of RM60. Unlike International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) which are globally accepted as the certification of English language proficiency, MUET is recognized only in Malaysia and Singapore (National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University). MUET consists of four components: listening, speaking, reading and writing. New test specifications have been introduced officially and will apply from MUET October/November 2008 onwards while old test specifications will still apply for MUET October/November 2007 and April/May 2008. Functions satisfactorily in the language. 3 140 - 179 Modest user - Modest command of the language. Modestly expressive and fluent, appropriate language but with noticeable inaccuracies. Modest understanding of language and contexts. Able to function modestly in the language. 2 100 - 139 Limited user - Limited command of the language. Lacks expressiveness, fluency and appropriacy: inaccurate use of the language resulting in breakdown in communication. Limited understanding of language and contexts. Limited ability to function in the language. 1 Below 100 Extremely limited user - Poor command of the language. Students that have taken MUET are eligible to be enrolled into degree courses offered at local public universities as long as their CGPA for Diploma STPM or Malaysian Matriculation examinations are good enough to fulfil the entry requirement. The difference between all these bands is that students from band 1 and 2 have to take two extra English courses during holidays while band 3 and 4 students take one extra course. Students with band 5 or 6 can skip the extra English course. Some competitive degree courses like medicine and pharmacy, however, require students to get band 5 or 6 in MUET.
